Experience Entrepreneurship Summer Camp 2024 in JAPAN- Unlock Your Child’s Limitless Potential with Young Mentors

What do you think our children will need to achieve their dreams?

As technology evolves and the business arena changes at a dizzying pace, the skills required are changing. Traditional study alone is not enough.

In the future, the ability that cannot be replaced by AI, the “power to survive” to seize the future, is indispensable.

  • The ability to find and solve problems on its own
  • Mental strength to believe in yourself and take on challenges
  • Communication skills to accept diversity and co-create with others
  • Inquisitiveness and the ability to take action to reach their dreams

Only those children who acquire these abilities can pioneer the times and make their dreams come true. This is why “Entrepreneurship Education” is getting so much attention these days.

Experience the extraordinary Entrepreneurship Summer Camp 2024 in Japan – a unique opportunity to unlock your child’s limitless potential with guidance from young entrepreneur mentors. More than just an educational camp, this immersive 4-day program allows participants aged 9-18 to gain invaluable entrepreneurial skills while exploring Japan’s rich cultural heritage and the pioneering spirit of Eiichi Shibusawa, one of the nation’s most revered business leaders.

They will ALSO learn about Japanese traditions, values, and the inspiring story of this famous “father of Japanese capitalism: Eiichi Shibusawa.” Under the mentorship of successful young entrepreneurs, your child will be empowered to pursue their dreams and foster a global perspective, which is necessary to survive the modern age.

Entrepreneurial spirit of Shibusawa Eiichi, the father of Japanese capitalism

Eiichi Shibusawa is one of Japan’s most famous entrepreneurs! Known as the “father of Japanese capitalism,” he will replace Fukuzawa Yukichi as the face of the new 10,000 yen bill in July of this year.

Eiichi Shibusawa was the first person to introduce joint stock companies to Japan. He was involved in the establishment of approximately 500 companies, including Japan’s first bank, the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Tokyo Gas, and East Japan Railway Company. He played significant roles in the development of Japan’s infrastructure and laid the foundation of the modern Japanese economy.

The “Junior Business Camp” program will be held in Fukaya City, which nurtured the greatest entrepreneur in Japan, to learn his entrepreneurial mindset. We aim to cultivate talented people who will pioneer stronger international/ global connections!

Programs to nurture children’s “power to survive”

Encourage the ability to achieve what you want to do! Here are 6 features of “Junior Business Camp”.

1. Direct guidance from entrepreneur mentors

A team of rich-experienced entrepreneurs will provide full support as homeroom mentors. They also offer passionate lessons based on what they have gained from their real experiences, such as “how to find your dream” and “how to overcome difficulties. For the participants, the stories of young entrepreneurs who are close to their age are extremely compelling and resonate deeply with them.

Many students said they found new goals and dreams through direct guidance from entrepreneurs, who are role models of the new era! One after another, they said, “I have found new goals and dreams!” The particapents will acquire the courage and mindset to take action.

2.Inquiry Based Learning and Workshops

The children will engage in inquiry-based learning work and group mission games while interacting in friendly competition in Age-segregated small groups, such as elementary school student A teams and junior high school student B teams. The homeroom mentors, who are entrepreneurs, will help children to relax from the first day while enhancing teamwork, cooperation, and creativity.

3. Regional Development x Business Idea Discovery Tour

The tour includes a museum with audio-animatronics of Eiichi Shibusawa to learn about one of the best entrepreneurial mindsets in Japan. In addition, during the city exploration tour, each team will go around the city interviewing business owners to look for ideas to revitalize the city, while at the same time developing the ability to communicate independently.

4. Fellowship with Teenagers from Around the World

Online exchange with Australian high school students. Your child will be exposed to diverse values, broaden your perspectives, experience “how to make the most of your language skills”, and ignite motivation to learn English. This is also a rare opportunity to interact with young entrepreneurs from overseas.

5. Lawyer-led Legal Lectures for Children

A legal course for participants by Ms. Chihiro Endo, a lawyer who is both a licensed teacher and a mother. Learn the potential danger of not knowing the law, self-protection, and other knowledge that will serve as a “shield” to protect your children’s lives.

6. Brush up Your Self-expression Skills by Creating a Presentation

Mentors will carefully guide participants from new business planning to the creation of presentation materials while addressing each participant’s opinions and polishing their problem-solving skills. Direct guidance by professional designers will greatly improve their skills: PC usage, presentation, material design, and self-expression!

Lots of happy voices from previous participants! “I was able to overcome my weakness!” “I could present my presentation with pride for the first time!” We will help your children to develop their self-confidence through a series of small successes.

Developing individuality and strengths to enhance self-esteem

At the graduation ceremony on the last day of the program, the “identity” of each participant is honored.

We want kids to think outside the box, and not to give them standardized evaluations. Our program offers a chance to let them experience firsthand the “importance of having multiple perspectives” and the “value of individuality.

We will find the sparkling parts of all participants throughout the four-day program, so please look forward to seeing what kind of awards they will receive!

Meet friends and colleagues! Expand your sense of values!

Junior Business Camp will not only provide children with the skills to play an active role in the new era but also offer ‘special experiences’ that nurture their senses and enrich their emotions.

Through these various experiences, they can meet soulmates and expand their personal network. You may even find friends who will pave the way to the future.

Special experiences are waiting for you, including live concerts by world-renowned artists, BBQ in the forest, and a campfire with young entrepreneurs at the climax of the event.

Special Summer Activities

There will also be activities at the “River Museum (Kawahaku),” which has the largest “giant water wheel” in Japan and a water athletic facility where visitors can learn about the scientific properties of water (flow, buoyancy, pressure, and resistance), flood control, and water utilization!

Childhood experiences last a lifetime

I want children to have the ability to make their own way in life no matter what obstacles they encounter! We have created the “Junior Business Camp” in response to the many requests we have received from parents who want their children to have diverse experiences at this time of high sensitivity and absorbency.

Participants and Parents Review Experiences

Here are some of the comments we have received from Junior Business Camp graduates and parents.

\Participant’s feedback (S.R., 14 yrs-old)/

I was so happy that no matter what question I asked, I got the answers right away. I asked many questions to various mentors, time flies so fast that 4 hours felt so short.!

I felt like I want to learn more and more things every day so that one day I can be like that too. I feel very fulfilled now that I have found what I want to do!

Thank you for giving me this precious experience of working with professionals in this field! It will be an asset for the rest of my life!

\Parent’s feedback (Meimei, 9 yrs-old)/

My daughter says, “It was fun, I want to go again. She has been saying every day since then. I am grateful that it was so much fun and stimulating for her. It was an experience that she couldn’t have at school, so I’m really glad.

We were able to get real-time photo updates (in the FB group for parents), and we looked forward to the updates. When she came back, during our New Year’s shopping, she talked to the shopkeepers and asked them many questions. I was happy to see how much confidence she gained in such a short period of time.

She had been nervous about giving presentations in front of people because of her mistakes in the past, but it seems she overcame the obstacles by herself.

\Parents’ feedback (C.Y., 10 yrs-old)/

After reading Ms.Kondo’s blog, I was looking forward for my child to participate in the camp! I was so glad that I could send my child to the camp. It was really valuable for her to be able to learn from the young entrepreneurs.

The lessons from the entrepreneurs seemed to have touched their hearts, and my daughter said, “I made a goal, though I won’t tell my mom,” (lol) and said that she will tell me when they achieve their goal.

Anyway, the content was excellent, and she enjoyed learning about the law in a easy way for them to understand, how to find their dreams, and how to create a presentation, all of which they enjoyed learning. I don’t think there are many camps that have such a rich content! My son, now in 2nd grade, says he will definitely attend when he gets to be the age of his sister who attended!

\A parent’s feedback (Mr. Sato, 10 yrs-old)/

Overall, she really enjoyed it so much so that she said “10!” even though the questionnaire questions were rated on a maximum 5-point scale. (lol).

Lately, my daughter has been saying “either way is fine to me” a lot, and I was concerned that she seemed to have a little cold personality, but I was very happy to see her face so bright when she was talking about the camp, and she seemed more excited than ever.

I thought it was also good that the teachers were close to her age. Perhaps it resonates differently when taught by people who have a similar sense of what is cool and what is tacky.

\Parents’ feedback (N.K., 14 yrs-old)/

I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the opportunity to participate in this program in a such time when my child was suffering from a lot of troubles.

The 4 days and 3 nights went by so fast. I am very happy to see that my daughter who was anxious about interacting with others before being in front of an audience has grown to the point of giving a presentation.

She said she enjoyed studying with friends with a good chemistry without any worries…. Thank you very much.

\Parents’ feedback (H.S., 13 yrs-old)/

As a parent, I was just hoping that my daughter would spend the five days with autonomy and responsibility, make new friends, and come home with smiles on her face.

When she came back home, she was totally excited and said, “It was fun! Now that I have a new goal, I want to do my best to start my own business!”
I was quite surprised to see that she was a different person from the time where she left home with full of anxious.

She was delighted by the peer mentorship from slightly older students, the age-based team divisions, the interest-based room assignments, the activity-driven curriculum, and the opportunity to gain computer presentation skills.

It made her realize things that she normally doesn’t notice, and the opportunity to meet wonderful adults and seniors that she would never had a chance to met in her normal life, as well as the chance to give her first presentation, was very valuable, and I am very glad that she had the opportunity to participate in this program. I would definitely recommend this program to my friends and colleagues.

\Parent’s feedback (M.K., 13 yrs-old)/

My daughter is not an outgoing person and does not show her true self very often, so I worried a lot about whether she would be able to make friends and communicate actively. When I went to pick her up, I was relieved to see that she made good friends through this camp and she said, “Four days is not enough!

After returning home, she enthusiastically talked about the camp, indicating she received a lot of stimulation and absorbed something within herself.

On a side note, seeing Ms. Kondo, who is the same age as me, working so hard made me reflect on the fact that I always make excuses for not moving forward. There are still many things I would like to do. This time, I was also inspired. I will grow together with my daughter.

\Parents’ feedback (R.I., 14 yrs-old)/

Thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to participate in this very fulfilling camp. After the dismissal, my son reported to me in abundance about what he had experienced in the past few days, and all the way until we arrived home, he was still talking about it in an unceasing state of excitement.

Instead of lingering in the aftermath, he seemed to be drawn back and sparkling with excitement, looking forward to the next camp.
He has been to many camps in the past, but this business camp seemed to hit the jackpot for him, and he has repeatedly told me that it was the most “interesting” camp he has ever been to.

I am so happy that he said “it was interesting” instead of “it was fun,” and as his mother, I am very happy that he said “it was interesting!” As a mother, I am deeply moved!
He said, “The mentors who are close to my age were very important to me. I think they are the people I admire. They have big backs to aim for. He said he is going to try small business himself.

\Parents’ feedback (Y.E., 15 yrs-old) /

As soon as my daughter came back, she said, “Mr. Haruki’s lecture was the best! I want to be like him!” I want to be like him!

As a mother, I have wondered when I would see the light in this dark tunnel… I have also wondered if my choice not to go to school was the right one. Seeing my child come back home, I was able to find the answer to my question.

Although she couldn’t attend to junior high school for three years, she was able to make many experiences and memories that she could not have at school by getting to know many friends and mentors at the camp in Japan. Thank you very much for teaching her many things that they don’t teach her at school! I really appreciate it!

I would like to show big thanks to those who sent us positive feedback!
